I was playing around and made some stuff in cardboard. I liked it. You think of cardboard as... cheap, play with stuff. But this was looking pretty, rich, elegant. Then I thought...ahhh.. Rags or Riches. I've always loved cardboard! I used to make cardboard houses when I was a kid, windows, doors, curtains, pictures on the walls. heheheh... I still make cardboard houses for the cats sometimes. Growing older is mandatory, growing up is not. :)

I made a small scrapbook kit done in 200 ppi. I didn't make full size papers but tiles instead, which can easily be opened in PS or PSE, any others?, and converted into patterns to fill pages with. Corel bought out Ulead, along with PhotoImpact and the Ulead video program. Now.. Corel is shoving PI out the door and will no longer be making updates to PhotoImpact. They do still have boxed versions of PI X3 for sale and downloads. When the boxed version is all gone the download version will still be available. I LOVE PhotoImpact, ok... I LIKE it a LOT, better than PSP or PS. So much easier to use.

Have you seen the newest Harry Potter movie yet? We went the day it came out, which was also Mom's birthday. COOL! We enjoyed the movie, but it just seemed an awkward movie; it seemed like it was littered with pregnant pauses. Maybe it was just me, but it was not like the other movies. Maybe it was a transitional movie, onward to other things than school days.

Ohhhmy... what happens when the electricity is blown from a storm? Well, everything we have in the house is run by electricity, no tv, no stove, no microwave, no computer, no a/c, all gone... It was only gone for about 24 hours but it's amazing what we rely on and then it's gone for a bit and I have become so spoiled. LOL

ANYwhooo... I haven't posted anything in a LONG time and it was just about time I should!!! I wanted to share a kit with you; it's a Shabby kit... not tooooo shabby... but a little shabby. Not real big, but usable. LOL Hope you like it and can use it.

Overlay Day!

I've been working on the living room.. ok... family room if you will. And it's getting there now. It has gone from masking-tape-color walls to a deep burnt orange color and painted the popcorn (ugh) ceiling orange sherbert. It doesn't look that bad. LOL Sounds bad, though. It is quite a change. The whole house, when we moved in, was the color of masking tape. And I know what the color was because when I was painting the guest bedroom green, I taped off the corner of a wall so as not to get that wall that color of green, and I couldn't find the masking tape on there. It hadn't fallen down, it was still there, just couldn't see it, that's how well it blended into the wall color.

Today I was outside pulling and digging out granddaddy grass (see post of Exercise in Futility in the "Rambles" link located at the top of this page) WHEW! I'm done with that for the day!

I have a couple of overlays I made to share with you today! The grunge overlay is 500 pixels and can be stretched to your page size and played with as you will. The ballet is a smaller one, too, and it can be stretched to larger for background. It will blur some if you do, but for background I don't think that's too bad a deal. LOL

It has just been gorgeous outside. Today is no different, just cloudy, not hot, not real windy, in the 70s. Perfect weather. I don't ask for much. LOL

I've been moving my scrap room from out in the shop back inside the house from whence it began. I had more room out in the shop, I had it decorated and painted up nicely, but it's... OUT THERE, not here in the house. I was going to put a little craft and gift shop out there and then it got to where I would put my craft room out there, too, and I was excited about it. The little store never made it but my craft room out there did. It got HOT out there in the summer and Mom got me a little window air conditioner, but it's just a little too small to cool it off much. There is no heat in it so we put our two "oil radiator" electric heaters out there for winter, which, thankfully, doesn't get near so bad or long as northern Illinois winters, to help heat the place. I left them on, at a lower setting, so things wouldn't freeze and for one month it was around $200, so I turned them off. And it just wasn't IN the HOUSE. It would get darned lonely out there! LOL My little craft room is beginning to take shape again. I won't have my computer and desk in there this time, that was just toooooooo big for that little room, 8 1/2 x 10 feet. Desk seemed to take up about a fourth of that. LOL

ANYway... all that has nothing to do with this quick page/plopper. LOL I just had to type some. :) Isn't the internet a great thing?

Hey, it's 56 degrees outside today! LOVE it! Would like it a little better if there were a little more of the sun popping through the clouds. I know, this summer I'm gonna say the opposite, come on clouds, cover up some of that sun! LOL I think the perfect weather would be 70 - 80 degrees, maybe 85 but that's just getting a little up there, sunny, passing clouds with a bit of a breeze and not a whole lot of humidity. Every day. I don't want much.

It was soooo nice out today and our son and his family came over and we cooked out and played T-ball and played on the Wii. Was a pretty cool time and the food was definitely good.

I saw on the Creating Keepsakes website in "More on January Tips and Tricks, it showed Shari Caroll's Inchies, where she created an alphabet on 1" squares using left over scraps. New Layout

Collin and Livi have a Rock Band set that hooks up to the TV. It has a guitar, drums, and a mic and when running there is a .. ohhh.. road map if you will, of the drum or strings you have to use to match the music that is playing. There are various levels difficulty and it is a really neat thing. Sooo... I saw the pictures Seth had taken of the kids playing with it stored on Facebook so I downloaded them and started scrapping them last night. I am done with one page and working on the other. So here is the one. LOL I think if you click on the picture you can see a larger image of it.

I have no clue what I am doing here yet. What I would like to do is show my digital scrap kits and sell some and give away some goodies, as well. I know there are TONS of digital scrappers out there doing the same thing. LOL

I also make greeting cards, by hand and digital and combination. That might be neat to show those and sell, too! yeah!

I had thought, too, I'd like to put a side page or create and link to another blog about ramblings and occasional observations made by a silver-haired blonde. I was always quite observant when I was young, or at least I thought I was. Not so observant any more. LOL

Mayhaps I will post a poem or song, as well. Maybe not. Time will tell. Family pictures. So many possibilities so little organization.
